Dr. Kristen Austin returned to Gondar, Ethiopia last month and was pleased to see that the cervical cancer screening program continues to be an integral part of the Ob/Gyn residency program at the University. The outpatient clinics have moved to a new hospital, and now there is a dedicated room to perform VIA and cryotherapy.
Go Doc Go supplied much needed VIA, cryotherapy, and LEEP equipment during the visit. A representative from the ministry of health in Ethiopia remarked that the program is “a model program” for the rest of Ethiopia.
The ob/gyn residents and senior staff thank Go Doc Go for their continued support, without whom the cervical cancer screening program would likely falter.
